Have I mentioned that I dislike birds? I have an unhealthy fear of them. They are very unpredictable. So knowing this here is my story of the morning...

I was sitting in the drive thru at Dunkin Doughnuts trying to get some coffee. Because I am in the drive thru I had my window rolled down so as to place my order. I am sitting there for a minute when I realize that there is a closed sign placed on the menu board. I am busy trying to figure out if this means that Baskin Robbins or Dunkin Doughnuts is closed when I hear a flutter of wings. I face forward and see a bird heading straight for my car. I panic and almost scream. It flew right above my head on the top of the car. I can hear it walking around up there. I closed my window and it seemed to take forever. I was paralyzed in side my car. Somehow afraid that the bird could get through the roof and into the car with me. Finally it fluttered away and I drove around to realize that the Dunkin Doughnuts was closed. So no coffee and a bird almost flew into my car. It was a traumatic morning!!

Awww, it was just a poor cute little bird! For your sake (and the bird's too) I'm glad it didn't fly into your car and cause you even worse hysteria. I can just picture Alfred Hitchcock's movie now...

Peck peck peck....

You crack me up! I'm sorry you were traumatized, though.

I can't imagine what you'd have done if you were Jane at one of our last trips to the Brevard Co. Zoo. A large bird (bigger than a parrot) in the butterfly exhibit/aviary flew up and landed on her HEAD!
She freaked out a little, but overall, handled it pretty well. Now when we go to the zoo she says, "That bird isn't going to land on my head!" And I have to say, "No, it isn't. I promise!"
